Chris Shakallis is a highly skilled Remedial Massage therapist with over 28 years full time clinical experience. Chris incorporates a broad range of massage techniques into his treatments, which are specifically tailored to meet the needs of each person.
A treatment may include a combination of Remedial Massage techniques including Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, Trigger Point Therapy and Myofascial Release. These aim to assist in the rehabilitation and normalisation of the muscular-skeletal system, encourage lymph flow, boost immune response and assist in pain relief. Importantly, these techniques help to promote wellbeing and relaxation, assisting the person to find optimal health.
Over his many years in the health industry both as a therapist & as an educator, Chris has had an interest in working with people wanting to improve their overall wellbeing, from office workers training at amateur sports level right up to Olympic athletes & professional sports people. He is also focused on massage as a means to address a variety of disorders, including lower back pain, neck and shoulder pain, anxiety, stress, headaches and soft tissue injuries.
Chris taught massage therapy at Nature Care College for 8 years, teaching the full diploma from basic to advanced techniques.
In addition to his extensive professional profile as a massage therapist, he has worked for over 25 years with the healing sounds of the Tibetan Singing Bowls and trained for many years as a Tiandi Qigong practitioner. Chris has made a number of CDs for relaxation and meditation, releasing Octaves From The Sun in 2001 and Beyond the Moon in 2003.
Chris has recently returned to the practice of Iyengar Yoga, which he is learning under the guidance of the highly respected Iyengar Yoga teacher, Pixie Lillas.
